Dhurandhar: The Revenge, starring Ranveer Singh and directed by Aditya Dhar, has officially received an A certification from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The much-anticipated sequel has been cleared for release with a total of 21 modifications.

The film has a runtime of 229.6 minutes (3 hours and 49 minutes), making it around 15 minutes longer than the first installment. The CBFC has also mandated the inclusion of disclaimers for disturbing content and drug-related scenes.

CBFC Cuts and Modifications

As part of the 21 changes, several abusive words have been muted or replaced. Violent visuals, including scenes involving head injuries, beheading, and other graphic moments, have been reduced in intensity to meet certification guidelines.

Other revisions include corrections to subtitles, particularly references to demonetisation dates. The filmmakers submitted official approval for references to the Prime Minister and the use of archival news footage. Additionally, English subtitles have been refined and the end credits have been shortened by one minute.

Strong Advance Booking and Paid Previews

The film is already generating strong momentum at the box office with impressive advance bookings and paid previews. Over 4 lakh tickets have reportedly been sold, with early shows starting from 5:30 PM nearly sold out.

Trade analysts are optimistic about a record-breaking run. Early estimates suggest the film could collect around ₹45–50 crore nett from paid previews alone, despite releasing midweek. There is also growing confidence that the film could aim for the ₹1,000 crore milestone.

About the Film

Written and directed by Aditya Dhar, the film is produced by Jyoti Deshpande and Lokesh Dhar. It is set for a worldwide release on March 19 in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada.

Ranveer Singh plays dual roles as Jaskirat Singh Rangi and Hamza Ali Mazari. The ensemble cast includes R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, and Sanjay Dutt, reprising their roles.

While the first film focused on covert intelligence operations in Karachi amid major geopolitical events, the sequel explores Hamza’s rise in the underworld and traces his transformation from Jaskirat into a covert operative.
