Advance bookings for Dhurandhar: The Revenge, starring Ranveer Singh, opened on Friday and immediately gained strong traction. Within less than ten hours, the film sold more than one lakh tickets for its opening day across the major national cinema chains PVRINOX and Cinepolis.
With this achievement, Dhurandhar: The Revenge has become only the third Bollywood film to cross the one-lakh ticket mark within the first 24 hours of advance sales in these chains. The only other Hindi films to reach this milestone are Pathaan and Jawan.
According to early trends, the film could finish its first 24 hours of advance bookings with roughly 1.25 lakh tickets sold. This figure would likely surpass the opening-day advance sales of Pathaan, though it may remain below Jawan, which recorded approximately 1.55 lakh tickets during the same time frame.
By Friday morning, the film had already sold around 4.5 lakh tickets for preview screenings, as those bookings had been open for nearly a week. Of these, about 2.75 lakh tickets were sold through the same national cinema chains.
Trade analysts suggest that if the preview shows had not been opened earlier, the first day of advance bookings alone could have easily crossed the two-lakh mark and possibly even approached three lakh tickets.
Given the strong momentum in pre-sales, Dhurandhar: The Revenge is expected to set major records for advance bookings in Bollywood. Industry watchers often use national chain ticket sales as a key benchmark for gauging advance booking strength.
Currently, the record for the highest first-day advance sales in these chains for a Hindi film is held by Pathaan, which sold around 5.45 lakh tickets for its opening day. The overall record across all films belongs to Avengers: Endgame, which surpassed the one-million ticket mark during its advance booking phase.
While the large number of preview bookings—expected to exceed five lakh—may limit the film’s standalone opening-day advance numbers, its combined pre-sales including previews could still challenge some of the biggest box office booking records.
