Madras High Court Restrains Illegal Broadcast of Dhurandhar: The Revenge Till April 15
Madras High Court grants interim relief to Reliance and Jio Studios, restraining illegal broadcast of Dhurandhar: The Revenge until April 15, 2026, amid piracy concerns ahead of release.

The Madras High Court has issued an ad interim injunction prohibiting the illegal broadcast of Dhurandhar: The Revenge ahead of its theatrical release on March 19, 2026.
Justice Senthilkumar Ramamoorthy passed the order while hearing petitions filed by Reliance Industries Limited and its media division Jio Studios, seeking urgent protection against copyright infringement.
Court Acts on Piracy Concerns
In their plea, the producers warned that several intermediaries—including internet service providers and cable TV operators—could unlawfully stream or transmit the film without authorization. They also submitted certification from the Central Board of Film Certification confirming their ownership of the film.
Acknowledging the risks, the court observed that films nearing release are highly vulnerable to piracy, which could cause significant and irreparable financial damage.
Conditional Relief Granted
While granting the injunction, the court also balanced the interests of the respondents, noting potential business impacts. It directed Reliance to indemnify the affected parties against any losses resulting from the order.
Under this directive, unauthorized broadcasting or transmission of Dhurandhar: The Revenge is prohibited until April 15, 2026. The matter is scheduled for further hearing on the same date.
Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar: The Revenge is a Hindi-language spy action thriller and the sequel to the 2025 hit Dhurandhar.
The film stars Ranveer Singh as an undercover operative navigating a complex web of crime and politics. The ensemble cast includes Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan, and Arjun Rampal.
